How to Use Heated Rollers for Loose Curls?

Beachy waves are an ever-stylish look that can transform you from just an ordinary beauty lover to a red carpet star. But creating the perfect loose curls is not always a cake walk. There are several steps you need to take in order to achieve this specific style. That’s why we found it wise to talk about how to use heated rollers for loose curls.

Use the Right Kind of Rollers

Bouncy hair curls require you to use big or jumbo-sized hair rollers. So the first step you need to take is plug in your set of rollers leaving it on for a couple of minutes to heat up. You want them to heat up thoroughly for this rolling technique.

Mouse Your Hair Up

In order to make sure your hair retains a natural and diligent look, run mousse through your hair. Rub it between your palms and gently smooth it into your hair allowing it to dry.

Divide Your Hair Into Sections

Just the same way you divide your hair when creating classic curls, you want to separate your hair into manageable chunks in order to create bouncy curls. We recommend using a comb to do this. Ideally, you should have a minimum of three sections namely, the upper-middle section, right side section and left side section. For clarity, consider holding these three sections apart by means of hair clips.

Tip: Hold one section at a time. Place the heated roller a few inches from the root, then wrap your hair in anti-clockwise motion. You may want to roll the fringe is the opposite direction.

Keeping It All Together

Once you have fully rolled the hair, consider securing it with plastic grips (these may come with your set of rollers or you can purchase some). Remember your fringe should be clipped in such a way that the hair rolls away from your forehead.

Mist Your Hair

Once all this is done, give your hair a nice hairspray as you leave the rollers to set. You can leave them on for 20 to 30 minutes essentially allowing enough time for them to cool down. Normally, the longer you leave the rollers in place, the better the curls you are likely to create. But at the very least you should wear the rollers until they cool down because for the curl to form, the hair has to go from warm to cold. Taking out the rollers while the curlers are still warm will mean your curls will drop out quickly.

How to Remove the Rollers

You can just leave the rollers as they are but we recommend you gently comb through it using your wingers or a wide-toothed comb. You can also take a round brush and use it carefully to create a loose and not too done kind of look.

Once you get the hang of it, it will only take you a couple of minutes to create some perfect loose curls. But before then, you need to keep perfecting until you learn the nitty-gritty of it all.
